She's got to have a biopsy under general anaesthetic

I'm worried:(

Rachel is beautiful :)

What's the biopsy for?

She's got a cut/sore just above her eye, just below where she has a fairly nasty cut about six weeks ago and the vet is worried it might be a lasting infection or skin condition.

She's nearly 12 now and after years of being really healthy, though overweight, she's starting to have a few problems:(

She's got to have some dental work while she's under too, poor thing.

Oh, she probably won't like the dental work :( but will keep my fingers crossed for the biopsy.

Thank you both.

One of my two rabbits, who I'd given to friends after I split up with the girl I had them with, died last week and I guess it's had a big effect on how I feel about today.

You had rabbits with a girl?

:hmm:

And good luck, Rachel :)

Rachel looks saucy :)

My boycat had to have a biopsy under general some years ago, I was worried sick too but he was fine and it turned out to be nothing (except a bloody enormous vet's bill ). Plus you will get the benefit of seeing her wandering around in a collar, which is always funny :D

Bill - estimate of £640.

Collar - she had to wear one a while ago and it wound her up so much she got sick in it.:(

My puss had a biopsy last year on a lump on her side. The vet said it was probably malignant and we were all getting ready for kitty chemo. The results of the biopsy were inconclusive and then.....

.....the bloody lump just disappeared

I guess the vet popped it with the biopsy needle :D

anyway I had about a week of sleepless nights but puss was absolutely fine and none the wiser (she loves the vet)

Cripes! No insurance then? :hmm::D She come round ok?

As if you haven't already spent enough.....but a feliway might relax her a bit while she's wearing the lampshade, spray it all over her bed where she sleeps. :)

You can get diffusers and collars too, if in doubt dose your pet up with pheremones!!

No insurance. She's been healthy until recently and I always thought I'd got off lightly. Not bothered about the cost though, just want her ok.

Good link, might try that thanks.

Vet's told me to call at 2 if they have called me, so I'll find out how she is then. *worried smiley*

glad to hear it yellcub... I've a real fear of hearing about furries going to the vets right now... My weecat is sticking to me like a rash today... If anything happened to her............................

I'm glad it's nothing to be worried about. That's a huge bill though.

They over-egged the estimate and it was a mere £520!:D

Still, couldn't care less, because she's home. She's not enjoying the lampshade though. And it'll be 7-10 days before the biopsy results are available.
