pot plants brixton where

ChrisFilter

Like a boss.
Where in Brixton should I get pot plants? Want some nice big jungly ones for my room.. don't have a car or out, so not too far a walk would be good.. live on Brixton Hill.

thanks :)

If you walk down the Hill now you should find an excellent stall at the junction of Brixton Road and Brixton Station Road - opposite the Goose.

In Granville Arcade - now renamed Brixton Village - there's at least one shop selling jungly houseplants.

Does anyone know the name of the WANKING jobsworth patern-balding and probably MALODOROUS council official who renamed Granville Arcade "Brixton Village"?

Granville Arcade was apparantly opening on Sundays at one point. Whether it still is and whether only a small amount of units took advantage of it, I don't know..

thanks me lovlies :)
If you can stand a bit of a trek, get the 3 up to Croxted Road, where there is a very good garden centre that has an indoor plant area.

Try any branch of pizza express, they often have just what you need outside. Bring side cutters and a strong back.

it's been said to be the best garden centre in London. it's just by the railway line, just after the bus turns into Croxted Road.

I dunno about that (and unfortunately garden centres are something I know a bit about), but it's good.

Also good, but farther afield, is the Secret Garden, tucked behind Safeways in Crystal Palace.

The only living pot plant in our library was purchased there. It's actually not too far to walk, albeit not in this cold, perhaps.

Chris, you should also be able to buy the dried leaves of the pot plants anywhere on the streets of brixton :D

There's also a flower shop on the corner of the Herne Hill junction (just outisde Brockwell Park) that sells pot plants.

AFAIK it as the wanking jobsworth etc owners of the arcade - Atlantic Estates - who re-named Granville Arcade as part of trying to perk it up a bit. Sorry to have to declare the council innocent!
