No weapons found following Culcheth shooting

Police have failed to find any weapons following the Murder of Anthony Grainger in Culceth
on Saturday (3/3/12). Here we go again

An IPCC spokesman said "Due to the presence of CS residue in the car a full forensic examination has not yet been conducted to establish whether there are any weapons in the car. This will take place in a controlled environment
in the next few days. An initial visual search inside the Audi, and a search of the
immediate vicinity of the car, has not located any weapons."

I'm pretty certain if there were any weapons they would be insta-paraded on tv to prove the badmen were really bad.

"Initial visual search" my arse.

I'm intrigued that we haven't seen the typical 'pre-emptive smear' that's become so familiar over the years in such cases.

Possibly an indirect consequence of the Murdoch Press/Police relationship unravelling?

Lets hope so, though the amount of criticism they (and the IPCC) have recieved for such things appearing in the press after de Menezes, Tomlinson, Duggan etc is more likely to have affected how this was handled, and not before time.

Police statement here give a little more information.

What information? From what i see that (a statement made on Sunday) is the standard "too early to say,
facts will be established by IPCC" spiel.

Nothing to see here, keep calm and shuffle on.
We'll tell you what happened when we've decided how to spin it favourably for our brave boys.

The assumption that the Dead victim would be armed was a fairly reasonable assumption to made when planning the arrest.
large amounts of cash body armour cs gas not normal house contents :(

when stopped doing anything other than hands on heads is going to get you killed :(

Well now, would it be reasonable to surmise that what with all the dodgy shit surrounding this guy that maybe the OB weren't too fussed about actually arresting him?

cs residue man the fuck up its hardly sarin (tbf fuchs probably snorts sarin for fun)
once you dragged the body out where else is the shooty thing going to hide.
unless its a tardis then seriously fucked:)

its probably not covered by "risk Assesment - looking for dangerous things in car covered in chemicals"

so the real delay may well be to having someone trained up to perform the risk assesment so that the Health and safety policy can be updated to allow the proper search to go ahead.

You may know this already but CS crystals left on something (in this case the inside of the car, but usually its bits of clothing) can be reactivated inadvertently for quite some time after the CS was deployed. Not sure how they would clean it off though, given the forensic issues involved.

a certain poster knows this to be a fact having left a very wet muddy cs gas covered NBC suit in the drying room of a nurses home.
que various fellow students getting gassed when going to collect laundry.
;0
no names no pack drill

you supporting a the police killing an unarmed man? this is new. Oh wait, it isn't

its not a game.
The British police are far from trigger happy stoping suspected armed criminals is a high risk situation for everyone invovled.
I'm relativly relaxed about professional criminals geting killed being criminals .

I think the dead man probably knows that better than anyone.

Yeah, to the best of our knowledge he was unarmed but he's been a bit naughty (though he's not been convicted of a crime) so who cares?

This is why nobody takes it seriously when you go on about how horrible the USSR was, or how brutal dictators are in the middle east - truth is you'd be perfectly comfortable with that here too. Just so long as they kill the "right" people (who you disapprove of).

Would it be normal enough if he were some rich cunt with private security?
Perfectly acceptable would be my guess.

Are you aware of anyone's life being endangered? I might've missed that bit.
and If he was on his way to commit an armed robbery, and i'm no armed robbery expert mind you, it would make sense
if he was fucking tooled up!
Was he? If not he surely he was an off the clock professional criminal or are they to be executed on sight, 24/7?

And if "abnormal" house contents, what ever the fuck that is, ugrades to top of the "to be shot" list then fuck you and the
donkey you rode in on.

Tit.

Without going back and reading them both to list the "little more information" I was referring to, a couple of things spring to mind.

It was a planned operation and that two other people were in the car at the time, I don't recall reading that in the link in the OP.

Fair enough:oops:. I must've misinterpreted something in the meaning, no harm ment though.

.

Thats brillant....such a lucid world view you possess.. It reminds me of the time i was accousted by three armed undercover police officers (the Mets finest of course) outside white chapel tube..i`d just come from the pub after after work (during which i had checked my watch several times as i was meeting some one later and didn`t want to be late) anyway it turns out the barman was watching me seen i had a grip bag was checking the time and i was Irish..hey ho off he goes and rings the old bill..
Out i come and as i was crossing the road 3 of these dicks pulled hand guns on me and started to shout at me to get down on my kness etc etc ( this was at 5pm in the afternoon in full view of the entire population going in and out of the tube..
For a second or two i was looking around and thinking what the fucks going on here and then i dawned on me that they where talking to me....and then thats when i got really angry...:hmm:
to cut matters short me and there head man went head to head..with lots of shouting and such bollocks..he told me to open the bag and i told him to fuck off..he says why not ..i says you open it and were all gonna go to heaven together....
it got very heated...
i asked him why he stopped me ..he was vauge about "information recieved"..and it clicked on me the barman grassed me..
i went back the next day and sorted him out...

It's not exactly fucking hazmat, is CS. Overalls, a ventilator hood and gloves, and you're good to go. They're just making excuses until they can get a "throwaway" gun to the evidence garage.

Cynical, me?
