Basically the space between the 2 blocks where the new block would go is hardly longer than a footy pitch.

Excuse me but FUCKING HELL - them prices - we will tie you into so much debt your eyes will bleed - depressing

What happened to the idea that tower blocks weren't a great idea and loads of them were demolished. Now they will be owned by the tenants who will have to take control of the maintenance when they fuck up.

I thought this was mainly 'affordable' rather than super-expensive, as it's linked to the Shell Centre development so the developer doesn't have to provide as much affordable there.

I think it's a better way of increasing density than what's been done at Haygate, as at least it doesn't dislodge existing tenants. As much as developers, rich investors, etc are increasing prices, lack of supply where people want to live (inner and central London) is also having this effect, and proposals to increase density like this therefore are good - I just wish it was the council developing it as truly affordable housing, maybe in part financed by them selling a penthouse or two at the top.

Sadly...affordable housing doesn't exist in London anymore...Prices are crazy everywhere, totally crazy....
