Line of Duty

The only thing is that there are so many familiar faces in, it can get a bit distracting. Look there's him from The Office, there's her from Lead Balloon, there's Neil Morrissey!

Who's from Lead Balloon? I noticed the Thick of It's Jamie as a slimy top brass.

Lenny James is a bit of a cut price Vic Mackey trying to keep one step ahead of his balls ups. However he doesn't have to hide Armenian drug money, just a scotch glass.

Neil Morrisey is probably up to no good with that sinister limp.

You're right. I recognised the wise-cracking northerner, and the character was like Finchy.

Set up fine.....then rapid decline into cliche cop spirals out of control sub-ellroy plot about corruption, infidelity and cop vs cop moral showdowns.

That's who he is, it was driving me mad. :D

He looked so familiar but I just couldn't place him.

I must admit, this is good. I gave episode one a go - hmm, another cop drama. So I gave it chance again on episode two it really kicked in. I'm sure the it must all be on the iPlayer if anybody missed it

Why do all the best BBC Dramas have to be a mini-series? I remember The Shadow Line on last year was brillaint.

The two Scots' accents keep slipping

Which two Scots? I can only think of one; the voice of the big baddy on the phone. Who's the other Scot I've missed?

I reckon Lennie James has to die tonight in the line of duty, which'll be why this series is called what it's called. So all of his grievous criminal misdeeds - not that the anticorruption lot have managed to figure too many out, to be fair - will be off limits. Posthumous medal for saving someone's life, or some such.
Glad that GIna McKee was only in one or two. She is the same in every bloody thing I've ever seen her in. Winsome and whiny.
