We might be getting a 're-imagined' town hall and a 'new destination.'
Transforming an early 20th Century civic building for a
21st Century Co-Operative Council
• Embrace heritage, enhance Brixton, enable Enterprise
• A catalyst for regeneration and investment
http://futurebrixton.files.wordpres...oduction-presentation_16x9-final-low-res1.pdf - [Via]THE TRIANGLE: A SPACE FOR EVERYONE
• A simple multi-use pavillion that exists purely for the Borough’s citizens: it is the glue
that links the Town Hall and the new Civic Offices
• The Triangle offers the flexibility that is needed to attract a variety of different types of events making the public area at the rear of the Enterprise Centre a buzzing heart
of the scheme linking all the functions of the development
• For performance display, trade, celebration, worship, education... its use is
undefined: a blank canvas for you to utilise and organically bring in community and
enterprise activity into Buckner Road - a new civic hub for Brixton
• The building is located to the north of the triangle site to offer good daylight qualities
to the inside as well as the outside spaces
• The Triangle is a focal point of the pedestrian routes that attracts, excites and
activates the public space. The building’s iconic, triangular facade is visible from the
newly created route through the Town Hall
• The square has been designed with sliding panels so it can be closed off to prevent
intruders at night as well as offering the possibility of private events to happen
