Help or Advice - Parking space needed for a week

Badgers

Mr Big Shrimp!
R.I.P.
We are lucky enough to have the use of a car for about a month. This has been fine as parking restrictions are 08:30 - 17:30 and the car has been used for work so no problem.

Next week is half term so wifey will not be working. We could really do with the use of the car for the week but have nowhere to keep it. It is only a Clio so not a big car.

Does anyone in the Brixton locality have a parking space they would kindly let us use? Only really needs to be between 08:30 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday.

Or any ideas on a place to park it?

I have no space but if you can't find anything I have 1 or 2 visitors permits you could use instead. Would probably need to park a bit further up towards the centre though.

Thanks Nips, that is really kind but those things are expensive and difficult to get. If we are stuck for a day then

Bung the manager of Topps Tiles a score, or Halfords, etc?

Might be worth an ask but I get the feeling that would be a long shot.

There are lots of unrestricted parking spaces in the south of the borough.

That is interesting to read. I can't work it out at all though :D

There is parking next to my house which is only restricted between 12 and 2pm. If you leave the keys with me I can go joyriding each day between those times to make sure you don't get a parking ticket. Also I need to take a load of really dusty building rubble, in bags with holes in them, to the tip.

The white part at the bottom is not a controlled parking zone. Drive around a bit south of Brockwell Park and you'll find roads with no parking restrictions. You may store your car there. I can't store my wardrobe there, nor a picnic bench, nor plant a tree, but you are allowed to store your noisy, polluting, killing machine there.

Odd. You can't park on Tulse Hill but that is is marked in white?

We could try Somerleyton Rd which is not far off but my guess it that it is pretty rammed?

A lot of places only have two hour restrictions to stop commuters so you could just make sure the car is gone during those hours. Obviously that is dependent on whether 'wifey' drives :p

Fail so far. Having a look round Herne Hill now.
Not sure where you are but there are spaces around Craster Road through to Ostade and the streets off there. I've been parking there for the last couple of weeks and can ususally get a space. Hope this helps

Yeah, the top part of Claverdale is free parking (the half away from the park) and I think Ostade. Craster has got the two hour thing now I think.

there was a big article about the way the CPZ has been rolled out on Claverdale in the SL press recently - about the fights it had caused on the road (people posting shit through each other's letter boxes etc)! It will all be sensationalised of course, but seems to have caused quite some problems.

A month long residents permit is at most £27 (or £15 for ved band 2 car) everyone else has to pay for one :-(
