Given the overwhelming prevalence of premiership team-specific threads in this forum, it's time for the fans to fight back and discuss the real issues in football:

Will 'safe standing' become a reality?

What will happen to clubs struggling to compete financially?

What sort of effect will Clarke Carlisle's documentary about depression & suicide in footballers have?

Will Luton Town get back in the football league at the fifth time of asking?

Will Dulwich Hamlet consolidate their newly-won position in the Ryman Premier, or push on to further glory?

Can St Pauli mount a decent promotion charge in the Bundesliga 2?

What will the new BT football coverage to do the Sky monopoly?

Is a blonde peroxide haircut still acceptable?

How shit will Lawrenson be this season on MOTD?

...and any other shit people want to discuss :)

We've had several players arrested on sex assault/rape charges arising from behaviour while they were on a pre-season tour down in Cornwall. Still sub judice but really depressing, angry on behalf of the victim obviously but also sad (hope this doesn't sound petty given seriousness of alleged crimes) that the reputation we prided ourselves on of bringing on young footballers to behave the right way on and off the pitch is in tatters.

Great result for St. Johnstone tonight, 1-0 away in Minsk. Hope they can finish the job at home. Can we talk about Scottish football in here?

with the exception of 1 game in late september, BT live coverage only showing the big clubs from aug - nov, hello ESPN & Sky.

Yeah I think BT got a bit of a bum deal - £750m for 38 games, whereas Sky paid twice as much for twice as many games, and got most of the 'big' ones.

Welcome to Urban by the way mate :)

With the slly money going round, this season's transfer 'window' seems to have been a massive disruption to clubs and distraction to players. Yes, the whole thing is blown out of proportion by the media and Twitters, but that's all part of the sick dialectic. At the very least, surely the window remaining open for 3 weeks of the season itself is just daft?

I share my office with two women, one supports City and the other supports Rovers. They have agreed not to talk about it at all tomorrow! I'll be supporting the Gas as I hate City.

City are a bunch of feral wurzels in my experience. Rovers is a much friendlier club.

From Twitter :

"Disgrace that. They celebrate beating a league two team by invading the pitch to throw coins and chairs at us, more shame them. "

Trendsmap Bristol (@TrendsBristol) tweeted at 11:24 PM on Wed, Sep 04, 2013:'atmosphere', 'rivals', 'provoked' & 'disgraceful' are now trending in #Bristol

I don't have the records to hand, but yesterday must've been the first time in quite a while that Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham all played on a Saturday. Three of them even suffered the ignominy of kicking off at 3pm.
