Euro 2012: Stadiums of hate (panorama)

More disturbing news from Ukraine last week:

Our society is very divided. Many hate many. This happens in any country with poor social welfare. So those attacking LGBT will be attacking other minorities,” he says.

...he's spot on there unfortunately. And the implication is that there'll be more of this sort of stuff in the UK as welfare is dismantled and social divisions reinforced to protect those truly deserving of hatred, the ruling class.

This should be in the books and film board, like many I have no interest in Sport, but will certainly watch this, some of the scenes are shocking..

That's where I put it to start with, I didn't realise it had been moved. My reasoning was the same, it is interesting to people who mightn't check the sports forum.

I feel sorry for those Asian lads who took a wallop or two... I thought the idea was firms battled firms - plenty of opportunity for it too with the possibility of them kicking some sense into each other.

Most unique bit about this is how England fans are unlikely to get the blame for it. Small comfort.

Looks interesting. It's easy to forget how far ahead of other countries we are in tackling racism.

Has anybody else seen Ross Kemp's series on Gangs? He visits a group of Polish neo-nazi hooligans. Again, truly shocking stuff.

Why did it take so long for the concerns to be shared, rather than a week or so before the tournament begins?

I saw that. What I remember from it was how seriously these guys take hooliganism. It isn't just a laugh and a punch up on a saturday, it is their life. I put it down to the mass unemployment you get in these places, it gives people a focus.

Aye, for sure. I think the extreme poverty helped with the neo-nazi views too.

That's sickening, truely appalling. For once I absolutely Agree with Sol and wouldn't let my family anywhere near this tournament.

What on earth are the corrupt twonks at UEFA thinking?

It was really bad. Who was that guy who claimed the nazi salutes was just 'pointing in the direction of opposing fans'?
