Corbyn compares Israel to Isis...

He isn't comparing Israel to ISIS, he's comparing the relative responsibility of British Jews and Muslims to entities which commit human rights abuses in their name.

Interesting line here for the commentariat to push, do they realise that no one in the Labour Party (unless they hate him already) is going to be swayed by this obvious lying?

I don't dispute his analogy but he has to know it was going to be misinterpreted, and it might not have been the right press conference to do it in.

call me naive but i feel a bit like a veil has been lifted from my eyes this week. at least as soon as this came up at work I could point out the total misquotation straight away cos i'd seen the video.

Didn't seem very stressed or flustered there. Looked rather comfortable in fact.

And of course, saying 'islamic states' (check for yourselves, that is what he actually says) means Saudi, Iran etc
yeah, it's even got "various" before it so it's no that ambiguous

The main issue people are finding is that the report was setup to investigate Anti-Semitism in the Labour party and draw the poison from that.

Its somehow morphed into "Yeah we're not anti-semitic oh and not Islamophobic either" the Islam parts drowning out the anti-semitic stuff.

It's not in the slightest bit ambiguous I'd say... the new meaning is just 100% made up by the guardian.
No, you're right but I suppose some West Wing style staff of millions might have come up with a form of words that didn't put Islam and state anywhere near each other just in case.

I was verbally attacked by a Momentum activist and Jeremy Corbyn supporter who used traditional antisemitic slurs to attack me for being part of a ‘media conspiracy’. It is beyond belief that someone could come to the launch of a report on antisemitism in the Labour Party and espouse such vile conspiracy theories about Jewish people, which were ironically highlighted as such in Ms [Shami] Chakrabarti’s report, while the leader of my own party stood by and did absolutely nothing. People like this have no place in our party or our movement and must be opposed. Until today I had made no public comment about Jeremy’s ability to lead our party, but the fact that he failed to intervene is final proof for me that he is unfit to lead, and that a Labour Party under his stewardship cannot be a safe space for British Jews.

From the graunid, what does this even mean? Why isn't this statement more specific? Is it because it's one of a long series of lies?

Video of it here

I can't tell what happened from the video but she looks like she was desperately looking for an excuse to kick off, it's very staged. The comments on the tweet suggest that she was just accused of being a mole for the Torygraph which she probably is.
