Clubs of the rich and powerful?

Brainaddict

slight system overdrive
After I discovered only recently the Ditchley Foundation - which appears to be a club for powerful people to talk to each other - I took to wondering how many clubs/associations/foundations there are like this, dedicated to getting consensus/backscratching among elites. Has anyone come across a survey/book of such organisations? If not, we could always list them on here. It's interesting to see how our lords and masters organise.

The Society of Merchant Venturers - not-so-secret rulers of Bristol for centuries

Current members include past or present chairmen/directors of Bristol Rovers, Bristol c*ty, Gloucestershire CCC, Somerset CCC, Bristol RFC & Bath RFC. That's just one demonstration of how far they pervade public life in this part of the world

A former member is noted foul-mouthed nepotist mayor George Ferguson who has been trying to sell the Port Authority to his mates in the Society and getting stroppy when anyone tries to get in his way
