Brixton Pubs open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year's Day?

We're busily compiling a comprehensive listings guide for Christmas in Brixton and I'm trying to find out the opening hours of pubs around town over that period - particularly if they'll be open on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and if they'll be doing food or not.

If you get chance, could you have a word with your local landlord and report back, please? It would be great if we could get some of the lesser known pub in there too.

Hello,
Does anyone know of any local pubs that are definitely open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and/or New Year's Day this year?
Thanks a lot

I asked in EPT and the woman ummed and ahhed. I imagine they will open for a bit, for all those regulars who prop up the bar. Will ask again later it eh week when they bar manager is in

Don't know if the Railway Tavern by Tulse Hill station is too far, but they're open Xmas day and have an open mic session in the evening. Not sure about boxing day/nyd... their website isn't showing anything, but neither is it showing for NYE which I find surprising.

is this is public service announcement like what chemists are open over the public holiday?:D

The Marquis is open Christmas day - times tbc but probably 12 to 4pm.

Also open new year's day - times tbc.

The Hand will be open at lunchtime... probably the evening too, ask the guys, you know them.
I've emailed and Facebooked but time is running out for listing in the print mag. I think I may just leave the section on Xmas Fay pubs off altogether.

Yes. No reply as yet. It's proving surprisingly hard work getting venues to send us the listings which we'll advertise and distribute for free for them. Loads haven't got websites either.

The Grosvenor is open all day on New Year's day. In fact it doesn't close from the night before. Hardcore!

We were supposed to be doing an all day party in The Railway on NYD but they cancelled because none of their staff would work. So they're shut all day.

I don't know, but they usually have a big one til the early hours. Last time I went there on NYE was about 3 or 4 years ago. I was playing records so no idea about entry cost.

The Cambria is open this year on Christmas Day from 12 until 4pm, I think.

The Prince Albert on Coldharbour Lane was open two years ago from 12 to 4 also.

I got an email from the Tulse Hill Hotel today about their Christmas lunch - £75 for adults, half that for kids. So it's clearly open.

So over £200 (2 kids)

I looked around last year and the cheapest was the Commercial - £50 per adult, £25 kids and after that it was £75 for adults at The Rosendale, half for kids.

We stayed in.

I suppose it must be very expensive to pay staff on that day, so to be expected.

but presumably it's still ok to go for just a drink?
