The Groke

hot hail/Paging Dr. Beat
Yeah, yeah I know, and I don't care.

I have come to the table late with regards to the Slayer and am now making up for lost time.

Personally?

Season 6 is my favourite (ooh, controversial?). Lots of Spike, bad Willow, Tara gets wasted, slightly darker tone overall and of course, "Once More With Feeling" one of the best episodes ever.

Following that, in order, I like 3, 5, 2 and 4.

I have yet to see any of series 1 and most of 7.....

So yeah, flame away haterz, I don't care......

i dunno

towards the end the actors felt more comfertable with their roles but by then i think all the overarcing story line had turned to shit

mind you the overarcing story was alwas a bit shit .... like that fucking vampire kid what was that all about? he was looking intresting only to be unceramoniusly killed off

Yeah, I think that is maybe why I like 6 so much, as I was never all that bothered by the whole "Big Bad" bit........with the exception of the Mayor I suppose. I like the snappy stand-alone episodes a bit better....

the mayor was intresting

i always felt that 90% of the secondary charactors are fairly fucking 2d

mind you even the main charactors were a bit crap when it came to depth ... most of them pulled it off because those charactors are either close to their normal personality or at least their defult acting mode

i'd vote but none of the options really suit me

Not sure why!

Either you like Buffy and have a favourite season in which case you vote for it, you like Buffy and have several favourites, in which case vote for them, you like Buffy and like all of them equally, in which case vote for all of them, you like Babylon 5, or you don't like Buffy, in which case there are appropriate options.

I didn't include a Fox-Maid option because, lets face it Shippy, not everything can be made to relate in someway to Fox maids.

:)

well voting for all of them doesn't wor as of course they are not all even

and i don't particularly like babalon 5 (your last best hope for ham acting)

so i'm left with the unsure and hey what about angel option witch is sorly under represented in that poll

see and i said all that with out mentioning the F-G-M word

I'd be torn between 3, which overall had the best continuing story line and 4 (ooh, controversial ! ;) ) which featured my three all time favourite episodes.

*makes rather large assumption*

I always thought Hush was an oddly overrated episode....

Probably because I had heard so many fans waxing lyrical about it before I got round to seeing it, it was inevitably going to be a bit of a let-down!

Don't get me wrong, it was certainly good.......just not as good as I was expecting.

*hopes assumption was correct*

Superstar
The Yoko Factor Part One

Goodbye Iowa?
Hush?
Something Blue?

It was correct. With me it was different. I stumbled across Hush on its first transmition while I lived in the US and it is the one that made me see the light after dismissing the series for three years, when I'd only ever caught the odd episode here and there.

Hush was overrated I think but it's in my back-up guesses because, as you say, so many fans rave about it. If superstar isn't one of Reno's three though then I'll lose all respect for him not just as a fan of Buffy but as a person.

The three episodes I really liked from Season 4 are Hush, New Moon Rising and Restless.

Drama queen. :p

I liked it well enough, just not as much as the other three.

Damn I was going to go put Restless in there. New Moon Rising is alright I guess but nothing special.

I realise most people wouldn't pick New Moon Rising, but if you are gay it's a bit of a landmark episode in commercial television.

I avoided Buffy for years while all my college mates raved about it, then I watch one and asked why didn't anybody tell me this was so funny?

got series 5 dvd boxset, the one where her mom dies, The Body *blub* *blub* :(

Johnathan > where he tricks everyone into thinking he is the hero...

spike turned into such a pussy whipped drip at the end

It's series three by a mile. A great villain (The Mayor) and that whole Buffy vs Faith thing too. Whedon and his team at the top of their game.

Buffy 'jumped the shark' the moment the wretched Dawn showed up.

dawn is shit

she was mildly intresting at first as i was waiting for her to gain superpowers of turn into a deamon or summin

instead she turned into buffy minus the attack power and one liners and the adition of an annoying whine

I finally got round to watching series seven last week. I can't remember anything before series 5 though, so I'm going for the one with bad willow in it.

You like Dawn?

Yeah I don't mind Dawn as a character, and I certainly don't believe that season 6 was the Shark-jumper (as you can see from my first post!)

The thing with Dawn, is that the character is that of a 16 year old American teenage girl.

16 year old American teenage girls are actually whiney, stroppy, self obsessed and irritating. A part I think she nails.

Finally someone speaks some sense.

(season 6)

True, but that doesn't make watching her any more palatable. I suspect she was brought in as a sop to Buffy's younger viewers – someone they could relate to etc.

the problem with the early series was - a) Angel, b) Riley.

A pair of tedious tosspots both.

Damn close between 5 & 6, both corking series', I think I'll give it to 5 just for 'The Body'
