BBC2: The World's Most Dangerous Roads

Just watched the first programme.

Charlie Boorman and Sue Perkins travel across Alaska on the Dalton Highway.

After a cheesy start, where the programme makers keep telling you (with annoying 'highlight clips') how amazing it's going to be... it really was quite something. No scripted high jinx, it seemed like they were genuinely in the shit at one point. Boorman was ok, Perkins was fab. In command of the CB (a massively important part of driving that road, I discovered), she was totally on it.

Can't wait to see more of this series.

Doing what Top Gear does best, better.

I didn't see it but would have liked it. Of course you have to remember that in order for it to be filmed there will be a crew with approximately three 4WD vehicles backing them up. These will have their own communication system as well. Nobody is going to get lost or abandoned if the main vehicle breads down.

I like Sue Perkins she is talented and possibly a bit bonkers. Shame that she bats for the wrong side.

I can't believe Boreman missed the 'I hear you prefer Beaver' cue from Sue, never liked the man.
