The Argentine parliament has overwhelmingly approved a proposal by left leaning President Kristina Kirchners "front for victory" coalition to have all Argentine athletes attending the London Olympics next year wear a logo proclaiming Argentinas rightful sovereignty over the disputed Islas Malvinas in the south Atlantic , off Argentinas coast and many thousands of miles away from Britain .

It would appear the precedent for this openly political sloganeering at international sporting level had already been set by British insistence that its teams be permitted to display the imperialist British poppy on their kit in November at international sporting events . Its proably inevitable that those British spokespersons who were outraged at sporting bodies seeing Britians move as inappropriate may well suffer identical umbrage at the same principle being applied to others on the international sports scene come the Olympics.
