Against the myth of “democracy” Revolution is always alive.

On its time, the uprising at the Polytechnic on 17th of November 1973, for the rulers of greece and their allies it was nothing more than an anti-state rebelion of anarcho-communists that had to be repressed and its memory after the end of the dictatorship should be deleted. For this reason the first elections after the end of the junta took place on the 17 of November of 1974, ignoring the uprising that had happened just a year ago which meant the end of the junta...

7 years of fascist military dictatorship had passed before this event took place. It was an uprising against the state and this fascist regime with a bloody end, as a heavy artillery tank drove through the main gate of the squated building of the Athens Polytechnic, killing people on its way.

Later on though, the same politicians that wanted people to forget this event, tried to alter the truth about it, to make it like a “democratic” student uprising, in order state “democracy” as we know it to be established, and made it a school celebration day. On 1981, the new government of the Greek Socialist Party (PASOK) who had just won the elections, together with the Greek Communist Party (KKE) tried to accomplish this with great success. Of course this falsification of the facts of the uprising and the integration of this to the political and partisan “celebration calendar”, making it known as the “celebration of democracy” it was not just an ideological but also a repression attempt against the opressed citizens of this country, because this celebration throughout the years have been proven to be a starting point for a number of anti-state uprisings and revolts.

On a tragic coincidence, it was the bloody consequences of a similar uprising on November 1980, that made the conservative regime after the end of the junta to withdraw from the government and the elections of 1981 to take place. It was about the murder of 2 demonstrators, Iakovos Koumis and Stamatina Kanelopoulou, and the heavy injury of much more even with the use of machine guns by the police on the 17th of November 1980. The conservative government (political party “New Democracy”) was responsible for this, alongside with the socialist PASOK, whose leader supported the repression tactics of the police and the Greek Communist Party that with its members the Communist Youth HELPED the police by attacking the demonstrators at the same time and taking control of the squated building of the Athens Polytechic. A similar senario as the one will mention to you a bit later on .....

Nomatter the lies that were said, that provocateurs were getting within the “genuine” demonstrators in order to destroy the celebrations, these bloody incidents, as well as others that followed on the years that came, they were all a part of a conflict that started on November 1973. A strong conflict between the anarchists and left political parties had started....

Going back to the events of November 1973, we can remember the text that the Communist Student Youth had issued (Pansoudastiki issue No 8) on January 1974 and clearly stated that the 350 anarchists, anti-authoritarians and other left people that had squated the Polytechic building on 14/11/1973, and their message for General Strike, Smash Capitalsim, Abolish Work, Smash the state, were provocateurs and people of Roufogalis (a member of the fascist regime)

We can also remember that when the uprising started the dictator Papadopoulos, was trying with the abolishment of Monarchy (greece was supposed to be a kingdom up that point), the amnesty of political prisoners and the nomination of a “democratic” government with Markenzis, to legalise his regime and try to get a deal with politicians.

This is when the uprising started at the centre of Athens, starting with the squat of the Polytechic building on 14 of November by 350 students and other young people and in the same time a lot of workers were starting a general assembly at the building Gini.

The police was unable to repress this uprising which became massive, but in the meantime problems started within this uprising and the people, with people talking about anticapitalist and antistate actions, and others (mainly members of the Greek Communist Party) who were talking about the dissolvment of the dictatorship and the start of the state “public democracy”. Even from day one, on 14th of November members of the Communist Youth were trying to stop the squat. Members of the GCP, like mr Xatzisocratis, had already stated that the GCP members were activelly trying to stop this uprising that started by anarchists....

But before managing to do anything, the uprising was already so massive and had deployed and in the streets of Athens, with attacks on public buildings, so the army came and repressed it with the bloody ending that I mentioned above.

The efford to make political state dictatorship (instead of military) by Papadopoulos failed and he was then replaced by Ioannidis. The regime was not able to continue though and finally gave up on July 1974, just after the incidents in Cyprus and the invation of turkish troops at the island ....

It seems though, that the message of this uprising has managed to pass to a number of people so uprisings continue to happen on that day during the last decades nomatter the effords of the various regimes up to now to repress them with the help of the Communist Youth of the GCP ....

I quote myself in order to give you a few videos that show this kind of action of the Communist Youth.

You can clearly see on the videos below the Communist Youth "comrades" of the Greek Communist Party HELPING the police on their attack against anarchists on the events outside the Athens Polytechnic on 1998 .... Red flags and Riot police have surrounded the anarchists.....

This is not the first or an isolated incident it has happened lot of times during various demonstrations as I have allready told you ......

Continuing on the topic that I started about the Communist Youth of the Greek Communist Party (GCP) I translate for you here an announcement of anarchists on 1979 about this very issue.

" The fanatic Criminals of O.P.L.A. (GCP front) on the service of "democracy"

TO everyone !!

The ones that, on November 1973, abandoned the squated building of the Polytechnic, because they could not control this uprising as it was going out of their programming and limits.

The ones that tried to save the capitalist social system, when the proletarians disobeying every single order from the political parties, stormed at the streets of Athens.

The ones that denigrated the memory of the young labour workers, that died in front of the Ministry of Public Order and the burnt banks at Acharnon str, by stating that the uprising at the Polytechnic was work of 350 provocateurs (leaflet Panspoudastiki Vol 8)

The ones that hidden behind the hammer and sickle emblems, capitalised their presence on politics, by helping the police and its spies, to repress the demonstrations of the workers (23 of July, 25 of May etc) that took place against the cruelty of this world, against the bosses and their politician and syndicalist "friends".

They are the ones that, during the 3 days events about the Polytechnic, tried to change the content and meaning of this uprising and started a progrom against those who demonstrated against this action, as well as the freedom fighters and the fighters for autonomous class struggle.

Comrades,

" The demonstration was massive and peacefull"

This is what the newspapers, the tv and the radio said. These are the lies that they try to make you believe, the state, the press, the police and their student syndicalist friends.
But behind the stand, that Mr Papoutsis and Mr Mpeis, were making their speeches, inside the building of the polytechnic behind closed doors, the Communist Youth members and the police were questioning and torturing comrades that their patrols “arrested”, burning their faces with cigarretes and hitting them. Forming military type arrangments at the area of the Polytechnic, armed with iron and wood bats, organised and trained in order to find out in the public the ones that at that time were expressing their anger and dissapointment, copied the actions of the Riot Police Squad, prooving to everybody that they are in this together, that the police needs them in order to control and repress any similar situations.

On the meantime, they tried to hide from the public their real self. Of course their bosses every time were trying to make them angry with lies, rumors and conspiracy theories. They managed to make their voters, to non-thinking, but usefull for the state “democracy”, pigs. Finally they even had the nerve to become and “city police” during Sunday's demo, apart of “Polytechnic police” that they were on the previous days.

The fact, that the student syndicalists already know and intentionally hide from everybody, is the fact that the Communist Youth members were communicating with the Police with wireless receivers and in cooperation with the Police headquarters and the Communist Party office they were getting informations of the moves of the “provocateurs” and were acting accordingly.

The newspapers are writing about “a few injured” on the time that the organised stalinists were severely injuring and sending to hospital a big number of young protestors.

ORDER WAS PREVAILED ON NOVEMBER 1973
ORDER PREVAILED ON NOVEMBER 1979

This is the order that the heavy artilery tanks of dictatorship prevails.
This is the order that they Communist Youth OPLA army of democracy prevails.

Worker

anarchists were the ones who were struggling inside the Polytechnic building, inside the worker's assembly, on the barricades, with all the rebels, against the bosses and the state.
These are the ones, that during the last 6 years, are fighting with you on the barricades of 23rd of July and 25th of May. The ones that today are dragged in police departments and prison cells, with the silent tolerance from the political opposition, because they are struggling for anarcho communism and freedom.
Because they are struggling against those, who – wherever you go on this planet – have the perfect killing machines and interoqation offices, the concentration camps and the prisons, the psychotherapy clinics and the media, in order to crass you, to kill you, to get from you the meaning of oppresion that you have lived all your life, in order to prevent you from uprising against the current situation, to prevent you from wanting to create a world without bosses.
Because they struggle against those, who want you to live your common fate and criminalise every proletarian. Against those who dont want you to live free and enjoy. Against those who make you live a passive life and make you denounce your own autonomous activity. Against those who enslave you with your jobs, your way of life, within this consumerism capitalist system.

Against those, who believe that lead the workers struggle, hiding themselves behind hammer and stickle emblems, wanting to become the new bosses, who allready own expensive means in order to repress any autonomous class worker struggle.

Comrade,
the tears of “humanitarians” for the violent actions of OPLA, does not affect us. As important democracy is for capitalism, stalinists are for the conservation of this ruthless society, the social slavery and misery. Whoever can understand what is happening, realises that together with the killed sailors of Kronstadt on 1921, the spanish revolutionaries of 1936 – 39, the urprising workers of Hungary on 1956 and Polland on 1970 – 71, the french revolutionaries of 1968 and their protugues comrades on 1974 – 75 that

HUMANITY WILL BE REALLY HAPPY ONLY WHEN THE LAST CAPITALIST STRUNGLES WITH HIS INTESTINS THE LAST STALINIST

Athens 19th of November 1979 ANARCHSTS
