2014 Elections: Urban Exit Poll

Who did you vote for in the 2014 European and Local Elections?

  • Total voters
    165
  • Poll closed .
TUSC aren't standing where I am registered, and I'm not voting for Labour or the Greens so I am not going to vote.

Euro: Green
Local: Labour

(the usual then :D) Also live in Labour stronghold. And, locally speaking, I like it.

I wonder how many votes the An Independence From Europe party will get from confused UKIPers.
The consensus of election experts that I contacted yesterday reckoned that simply by being top of the ballot and having “UK Independence” in their description (see picture) could give it a vote share of 2% or more which, if YouGov’s final poll is right will be enough to swing the result.

Back in 2004 in a SW Euro seat a candidate calling himself a “Literal Democrat” appeared on the ballot above the Liberal Democrat candidate. The former picked up nearly 5% of the vote which was several times more than the losing margin. The Lib Dems tried to get the result over-turned in the High Court but lost.

How much does it cost to stand as a candidate in the Euro's? We could have had a PD candidate.
Couldn't even afford to get a couple of joke posters done and put up. :( There's a legalise cannabis geezer on the ballot. Even he has got it together more than PD. Oh right, there's two of them, Ming is on there as well.

I'm going later to vote Labour, as alluded to in previous threads I enjoy voting, so delightfully parochial & low tech & a nice day for it in Essex as well.

Green in both.

The polling station is in a mobile library in a school car park. A Lib Dem canvasser was standing around outside: I resisted the temptation to point out that he's got a nerve standing outside a mobile library that's probably going to be withdrawn because of cuts imposed by a part-Lib Dem government. The ballot box was a strange portable thing like a big square rucksack. 'You'll have to fold the paper to get it in,' the clerk advised me. 'It's a bit of a tight hole.' I couldn't resist saying, 'As the bishop said to the actress.' :D
